Bac Giang pays heed to economic investment and development in special difficult areas

(BGO) – Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong on November 15 visited 4 most difficult hamlets in the province in 2016 – 2018 period, including Dong Mam and Co Vai hamlets in Son Hai commune as well as Suoi Chac and Ri hamlets in Phong Van commune (Luc Ngan district). He was accompanied by leaders of the provincial Ethnic Board, Bac Giang branch of Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam and People’s Committee in Luc Ngan district.

At the destinations, Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong listened to the reports from the hamlets’ leaders about the local economic development status and residential’s life. Because the households in Dong Mam, Co Vai, Suoi Chac and Ri hamlets have focused on cultivating and breeding under scattered models, there are many challenges for their living.

Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong inspects the economic development in Dong Mam hamlet, Son Hai commune.

Besides, the concentrated commodity production area has yet to be formed in the hamlets while the side job is not developed for further income leading to a high rate of poor households around 40 to 80 percent. For instance, there are 76 poor households out of 96 families in Suoi Chac hamlet and over 45 percent of poor families in Dong Mam hamlet.

After the reports and actual inspection, Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong encouraged the hamlets’ leaders further promoting the spirit of self-reliance to appeal for the local residents’ solidarity and mutual support toward economic development to escape from the poverty.

He pressed that the provincial authority will continue creating the most favorable condition in policy and mechanism to support the infrastructure construction in the special difficult area in the upcoming time. Also, the People’s Committee in Luc Ngan district was urged to review and select the key models of the hamlets that will be given a prioritized support expense to build the production development model.

Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong presents gifts to the students at Son Hai Boarding Ethnic High school, Secondary school.

Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong suggested that Dong Mam hamlet has an advantage of hill land and huge water surface of Cam Son lake so the district authority should support the farmers in developing a concentrated cultivation area of pomelo and cage fish farming toward commodity trend as well as instruct the caring technique.

Additionally, with the mushroom growing model, the households were encouraged to set up a production cooperative to increase the income. In Co Vai hamlet, Vice Chairman Duong requested the People’s Committees in the district and Son Hai commune to well mobilize the local sources to concrete the rural road by the provincial supported cement so as to ease the travel and commodity transport.

He also stressed on the high rate of poor households in Suoi Chac hamlet where many people are living in damaged houses; thus urging the competent agencies of the district to review and timely support the locals to eliminate the temporary houses as regulation in order to help them stabilize and settle their living. Apart from that, they should promptly issue the certificate of land use right to the household in order to ensure their right in accessing to bank loan for investment to economic development.

On behalf of the provincial People’s Committee, Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong presents the gifts to Suoi Chac hamlet.

Also, he called for further efforts from residents in Ri hamlet to fully tap the manpower potential, revamp the hill orchard, actively cultivate new fruit trees and breed the poultry and castle to create big commodity supply to gradually improve the living.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong presented gifts to the hamlets and prestigious people as well as 30 gift sets (each worth 300,000 VND or about 13 USD) to students of the Son Hai Boarding Ethnic High school, Secondary school and one set to Kindergarten in Son Hai commune.
