The overpass on Tran Quang Khai road is being completed.

Identifying it as a key project to welcome the Party congresses at all levels, the contractor, Tan Thinh Construction Co., Ltd., has gathered all human and material resources to accelerate the construction progress.

Everyday, there are about 80 officials and workers at the site. By this time, about 70 percent of the workload has been completed, with technical open slated for the end of July. Efforts will continue to be made to complete the railing and lighting systems so that the project will be put into operation in August, over one year ahead of schedule.

Also with the spirit of prompt working, officials, engineers and workers of the joint venture of Van Cuong Construction United Co., Ltd and Transport, Construction And Investment Trading Joint Stock Company No 1. have fulfilled about 85 percent of the workload of the flyover on Tran Quang Khai road spanning Thuong River.

The project is part of the Second Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project, with a total investment of more than 237 billion VND (10.22 million USD). It is implemented in Tho Xuong ward and Song Mai commune with the main items including a 1,4km road section and a 400m-long,13m-wide bridge. It has a permanent design made of reinforced concrete.

Currently, the two contractors are focusing human and material resources to build foundations, bridge surface and final items so that the bridge can get linked by the end of June and technical open is expected on the occasion of the National Day (September 2) this year as scheduled.

Work on the project commenced in October 2019. With the active participation of the local Party Committee and authorities and the support of the people, now 60 percent of the construction of the road connecting Tran Hung Dao street and Vo Nguyen Giap road and the overpass over the provincial road 295B has been completed.

The work has a total length of 2.8km, including the overpass and the road passing through three wards and communes: Song Mai, Da Mai and Tan My. It is expected to be completed many months ahead of schedule.

Promptly removing difficulties, ensuring progress

The three projects have a total investment of more than 800 billion VND (34.5 million USD), mainly from the city budget. The remaining comes from the ADB loans and the central budget. When completed, the works will contribute to expanding the transport network; gradually completing the city's infrastructure; promoting business, trade and services; tapping tourism potential; and facilitating comprehensive socio-economic development of Bac Giang city and the province.
