Wood exports reach nearly US$9 billion in nine months

The export revenue of wood and forestry products is estimated to have reached US$8.97 billion in the first nine months of 2020, an increase of 12% over the same period last year, according to the Association of Vietnam Timber and Forest Product (Vifores).

Of the total amount, export revenue from wood and wood products was reported at US$8.38 billion, up 11.2% over the corresponding period in 2019.

The US was Vietnam’s largest wood export market with export revenue of US$4.19 billion, up 27.4% over the same period in 2019, followed by Japan, China, the EU and the Republic of Korea.

The export value of wood and forestry products increased again by two digits in August and September.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan said that after two waves of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnamese wood exports continue to display positive signals thanks to efforts and creativity of enterprises.

He noted that the Vietnamese wood industry is expected to achieve an export turnover of US$20 billion by 2025.

The wood processing and production industry was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in early this year and the industry has recovered since the pandemic was put under control in July.

Specifically, the export value of wood and forestry products increased again by two digits in August and September.

(BGO) - Tho Ha communal house in Van Ha commune (Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province) is one of the famous ancient comminal houses with unique architectural and artistic values in the North. The communal house was built long time ago and was renovated during the Le Dynasty, the 7th Chinh Hoa year (1686). Among the most unique images on Tho Ha communal house architecture are the carvings of fairies.

Domestic wood processing enterprises are urged to use more online commercial channels to find new markets and customers, especially during the COVID-19 epidemic.

(BGO) – The ancient giant green ironwood tree on Lim hill, Xuan Lung village, Xuan Luong commune, Yen The district (Bac Giang province) is nearly 50 meters high with the big diameter that is fully held by 6 to 7 adults. According to the local elders and scientific researcher, it is thousand years old.
