(BGO) - On the afternoon of December 21, a working delegation from the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) led by Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the union, had a working session with the Standing Board of the Party Committee of Bac Giang province.
Over the years, the gathering, uniting, and promoting the intelligence and creativity of intellectuals, especially those with high qualifications, has received due attention, thus attracting more and more intellectuals in science and technology field.

The Bac Giang Scientists Association in Hanoi was established in 2013. Now it gathers more than 160 members, including many professors and associate professors in various fields. It has organized many activities towards the homeland of Bac Giang.
Bac Giang is the first province in the country to issue a strategy to develop intellectuals, thereby gradually renewing activities of associations and proposing specific mechanisms and policies in mobilizing and gathering intellectuals inside and outside the province to participate in the implementation of local political tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People's Council Le Thi Thu Hong affirmed that the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Committee always pay heed to the activities of the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations. Bac Giang always determines that intellectual development is one of its important tasks.
In order to fix shortcomings and limitations in this work, in the coming time, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee will continue to have mechanisms and policies to attract highly qualified experts to serve the research and application of science and technology for the local socio-economic development.
It will continue to direct the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations to do well the mobilization and gathering work in order to build and train a contingent of qualified intellectuals with reasonable structure, thus meeting the needs of socio-economic development. It will promptly detect and employ talented intellectuals with innovative thinking to contribute to building the homeland.
At the event, VUSTA Chairman Phan Xuan Dung congratulated Bac Giang province on its achievements in all fields and praised efforts of the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations in gathering and connecting its members to promote science and technology research and application activities.

The organization of annual contests has aroused science and technology passion and creativity among people of all walks of life, especially youngsters and children. He suggested that the leaders of Bac Giang province continue to trust in and create conditions for the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations to successfully complete their tasks, and at the same time assign more difficult tasks to maximize its role of giving consultations and criticism.
The union was urged to continue to perform well its role in developing the province's intellectuals so that this group becomes a core force that contributes their knowledge to the local socio-economic development.
