Workers of the Civil Engineering Construction Joint Stock Company 873 are welding girder moulds of Ha Bac 2 bridge.

The contractors reinforced enough machines and facilities to start the work right after 6 days signing the contracts. After nearly 2 months of construction, 20 percent of the workload has been completed. The construction is scheduled to be completed ahead Lunar New Year 2023.

According to the provincial Management Board for traffic and agriculture investment and construction projects, 8 bridges are being built in the province including Nhu Nguyet, Ha Bac 2, Hoa Son (across Cau river), Dong Viet, A Lu, Thuong river overpass (across Thuong river), Deo Gia and My An (across Luc Nam river).

The Thuong river overpass (included in the project of the road connecting national highway 37, national highway 17 and provincial road 292) linking Lien Chung commune (Tan Yen district) and Duong Duc commune (Lang Giang district) has been completed, 10 months ahead the schedule.

The contractors are also concentrating on constructing the project items keeping track of the progress.

In order to accelerate the construction progress of Ha Bac 2 bridge, the Civil Engineering Construction Joint Stock Company 873 appointed a Deputy General Director specializing in bridge construction to direct and run the project and handle arising situations at the construction site.

Thanks to advantages in land resource and geographical location, Bac Giang has made dramatic breakthroughs in recent years which is gradually shaping an industrial province. However, the shortage of big bridges has caused unbalanced development among localities.

For example Viet Yen district, although this locality has developed industrial sector for a long time, it is mainly concentrated along Hanoi-Bac Giang expressway while big potentials in other localities have not been effectively exploited. This caused an unbalanced development in the district.

Similarly, although Hiep Hoa district is bordered with many provinces such as Hanoi, Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh, the strengths of the locality have not been brought into play due to lack of connection.

Recognizing obstacles against its development, the province has taken initiative to recommend and implement a number of bridge projects across the rivers to connect to other localities. Ahead these projects, the localities in the province have implemented series of projects.

Since the beginning of the tenure, Hiep Hoa district has launched some traffic projects connecting the district center to other localities such as North-South axis road (paralleling with the provincial road 295), the road connecting the national highway 37 to Pho Yen (Thai Nguyen province), the connection road from Vat bridge (in Hop Thinh commune) to Xuan Cam commune and the road from Hoa Phu industrial park to Mai Dinh commune.

8 bridges are being built in the province including Nhu Nguyet, Ha Bac 2, Hoa Son (across Cau river), Dong Viet, A Lu, Thuong river overpass (across Thuong river), Deo Gia and My An (across Luc Nam river). The Thuong river overpass (included in the project of the road connecting national highway 37, national highway 17 and provincial road 292) linking Lien Chung commune (Tan Yen district) and Duong Duc commune (Lang Giang district) has been completed, 10 months ahead the schedule.

Besides, Viet Yen district has allocated resources to renew the route connecting National highway 37 (in Bich Dong township) to the belt road No 4 (the connection point leading to Ha Bac 2 bridge). In addition, the district plans to develop the golf course and leisure- service area in Trung Son commune in line with series of high-class urban areas along this newly opened route.

After A Lu bridge is completed, the urban space of Bac Giang city will be also expanded to the communes and wards of My Do, Tan My and Song Khe.

“The bridges which have been brought into use will open up more opportunities for connection among localities and create momentum for equal development. We regularly supervise the ongoing projects and require the contractors to maximize their labour force and facilities for construction in good weather condition”, said Ngo Thanh Duy, Vice Director of provincial Management Board for traffic and agriculture investment and construction projects.
