(BGO) – In late July, the Livestock Production and Veterinary Division (Division) in Bac Giang province confirmed to receive 5,000 doses of African swine fever (ASF) vaccine from the producer and supplier Central Veterinary Medicine Joint Stock Company.
The Division cooperated with Hai Thinh Bac Giang Company Limited in Thuong Thang commune, Hiep Hoa district to pilot injecting 1,000 ASF vaccine doses to the pig herd of this company.

After vaccination, the Division assigned staff to supervise the safety of the vaccine. All vaccinated pigs are safe without any anti-vaccine symptom or side effect. As schedule, these pigs will be taken sample to check the antibodies for ASF virus after 21 days.
Each ASF vaccine dose costs about 36,000 VND. It helps prevent ASF disease with extended immune up to 6 months and protect the safety of pig production.
