Vietnam’s exports to CPTPP countries up 38.7% in January- August period

Vietnam's export value to Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) member countries increased by 38.7% to 41 billion USD over the first eight months of 2022, the Government's report shows.

The Southeast Asian nation spent 35 billion USD on imports from CPTPP nations, the VGP cited the report released by the Government on the implementation of the CPTPP, during the January-August period.

With the above figures, Vietnam enjoyed a trade surplus of 6 billion USD.

Remarkably, Vietnam's exports to Canada and Mexico grew by 32% and 9.2% to 4.5 billion USD and 3.2 billion USD, respectively.

CPTPP, a new-generation trade pact, was signed by 11 countries, namely Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam in Santiago, Chile on March 8, 2018.

Eight months later, Vietnam ratified the trade deal that took effect on January 14, 2019.

Conference seeks to better cross-border e-commerce skill for export firms
Hanoi will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency (iDEA), Amazon Global Selling Vietnam, and relevant units to support and train businesses in skills on cross-border e-commerce, according to Vice Director of Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (HPA) Nguyen Thi Mai Anh.
 
Strengthening management of planting area codes for agricultural export
Vietnam has about 4,600 planting area codes granted for a total area of about 300,000 ha and 2,000 packing facilities throughout 50 provinces and cities. The establishment and issuance of codes for growing areas and packing facilities are mandatory requirements of importing countries, ensuring compliance with regulations on plant quarantine, food safety and traceability.
 
Export turnover hits over 16 billion USD in Bac Giang
(BGO) – The export turnover in Bac Giang province hit over 2.3 billion USD in September and over 16.1 billion USD in nine months of this year, up 60.3 percent year on year, reported the Department of Statistic.

(BGO)- The import and export turnover of Bac Giang province in the first 9 months is equal to the total value of last year. Of which, export turnover is in top provinces and cities. The result demonstrated production recovery of the businesses in Bac Giang to meet orders of the partners.
 
Agro-forestry-fishery export turnover increases over 13%
Import-export revenue of agro-forestry-aquatic products was estimated to reach 66.2 billion USD in the first eight months of 2022, up 8.7% year on year, of which export turnover hit about 36.3 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 13.1%, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
