(BGO) – Digital economic development is one of three major pillars specified in Resolution No. 111 on June 11, 2021 of the Bac Giang provincial Party Committee about digital transformation in Bac Giang province in 2021 - 2025 period with the orientation to 2030. After one year implementation, many local businesses, cooperatives and households have actively applied digital economy with practical efficiency.
Tapping advantages of electronic commerce (e-commerce)
Bac Giang defines to develop digital economy with key contents to develop digital technology business, switch from information technology erection and manufacturing to producing digital technology products, creative industry, e-commerce and smart production; apply digitalization to accelerate production, business and management of enterprises.

Realizing these above tasks, the province has launched various solutions with prominent result in digitalization application to boost up production, business and management, helping enhance working productivity, competitiveness of company and economy.
According to the Department of Information and Communication (DoIC), two e-commerce platforms Postmart.vn of Vietnam Post Corporation and Voso.vn of Vietel Post Joint Stock Corporation increase the connectivity, promotion and expand market to consume products of cooperatives, businesses and farming households among others.
Binh Nguyen Clean Farm Produce Cooperative in Luc Ngan district is specialized at producing orange, pomelo, lychee on large scale in line with VietGAP procedure. In 2021, their lychees were widely promoted and sold on Postmart.vn.
Similarly, Hoang Vu Clean Farm Produce Cooperative in Luc Ngan district in 2022 sold about 100 tonnes of lychee grown under VietGAP procedure on e-commerce platform with higher revenue of 5 percent against direct sale.
The province now has nearly 114,000 businesses, cooperatives and households selling products on Postmart.vn and Voso.vn. Most of local products under One Commune One Product programme (OCOP) and other farm produce have been introduced on e-commerce platforms. For over two years, more than 100,000 transactions of goods with total value of nearly 100 billion VND (4.3 million USD). Huge quantity of lychee was consumed (some 10,500 tonnes).
Supporting digital technology and platform
Digital economy initially contributed to the provincial growth with the appearance of many new businesses and services such as business on e-commerce platform, social network, online teaching…. Especially, 100 percent of business in the province made online taxation declaration and used online invoice while 98 percent of enterprises made online tax payment.

Additionally, some companies switched from installation and manufacturing of information technology to production of digital technology products, creative industry and smart production. Typically, Seojin Vina Company Limited in Song Khe – Noi Hoang industrial park is able of producing and manufacturing mechanical products, erecting robot hand and control devices.
According to DoIC, Bac Giang province rank 10 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in digital transformation in 2021 in which digital economy secured six out of 63 localities. The result affirmed an active switch of the province in directing, supplying services for people to develop digital economy.
Vice Director of DoIC Nguyen Gia Phong said, to develop the digital economy, the Department consulted the provincial People’s Committee to issue plan assisting farming households to join the e-commerce platform which focused on helping them register to such platforms to connect, promote and expand consumption market.
The DoIC also provided dozens of courses to train online business skill, startup knowledge on transaction flatforms to the cooperatives and households to accelerate the farm produce consumption.
Besides, the DoIC created favorable conditions and supported business to launch solution to connect with telecommunication agencies, supply bid data analysis about both domestic and foreign market trend on Open Data of the province so that the business can orient and build suitable strategy of digital economy development.
By 2025, Bac Giang strives to have 800 digital businesses with digital economy of 25 percent of provincial Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). The digital economic ratio in each field and sector hit at least 15 percent.
To obtain the target, the DoIC continues cooperating with relevant departments and sectors to support enterprises to change method of doing business, provide service on digital platform, train and use human resource serving digital economy as the master of digital technology while further assisting company to join e-commerce platform to widely promote the products.
The Department of Industry and Trade will join hands with the Vietnam e-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to support the cooperatives and businesses to participate in domestic e-commerce platforms of Lazada, Shopee, Tiki, Sendo and foreign ones.
Apart from these solutions, the people and business need to update new knowledge and technology to develop the digital economy.
