(BGO) – On February 21, Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Anh Duong chaired the regular meeting in February.
The socio-economic situation in February and the first two months of this year was positively reported with growth rate in most of key production sectors.

Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) Duong Thanh Tung informed about timely production on spring and summer season. The lychee enjoyed high flowering ratio which is good signal for another bumper crop. The DARD has reviewed the growing area codes, arranged them as regulation, removed the disqualified packaging facilities.

Also, the Department proposed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to arrange irradiation facility in the Northern area to facilitate the lychee export to high demanding markets.
Regarding investment attraction, Head of the Management Board of provincial Industrial Park Dao Xuan Cuong said the province has attracted over 830.6 million USD of investment and approved for several projects to increase the capital since early this year, helping Bac Giang rank first nationwide. The province strives to lure more big projects in the future. 175 businesses were newly established in the province with registered capital of 7,108 billion VND (nearly 300 million USD).

Concluding the event, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong acknowledged the prominent results in agriculture, industry and investment attraction. He directed localities to well prepare condition for lychee consumption, accelerate to disburse basic construction capital, strictly control over natural resources and mining among others.

“The driving force for provincial development is to attract more investment projects but the obstacles for project execution have been solved slowly, especially investing to new industrial park and key projects. It causes big impact on socio-economic growth. Bac Giang now lacks industrial land fund so we need to have longterm solution. The departments and sectors must urgently review, resolve in each stage and work out specific solution for projects in term of investment procedure, infrastructure among others,” he pressed.
At the meeting, the delegates commented on a number of draft resolutions of the provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee.
