Bac Giang maintains export growth

(BGO) – The export of goods in Bac Giang province has recently gained impressive result, helping the province rank top 10 localities nationwide in export turnover. With local potentials and advantages, the province continues working out strategy toward sustainable export.

In the first two months of this year, the provincial import export turnover hit 6.28 billion USD (up 11.2 percent year on year) in which export value gained 3.11 billion USD (up nearly 16 percent).

The biggest export markets were China, Republic of Korea, the US, India, Spain and others. The major export products included garment, leather, computer, electronic component, cellphone, electric equipment and plastic product.

Several enterprises earned big production and export value such as Fuyu Precision Component Company Limited in Quang Chau industrial park (surging 36.75 percent), Vina Solar Technology Company Limited in Van Trung industrial park (surging 146.94 percent).

Currently, there are a few of local companies which are specialized at exporting processing farm produce like Toan Cau Food Import Export Joint Stock Company in Luc Ngan district and Vifoco Import Export Joint Stock Company in Bac Giang city.

The export of agricultural product is expected in full swing in the upcoming lychee area thanks to Chinese removal of Zero Covid policy and acceleration of local consumption promotion.

Early this year, amid numerous difficulties, many enterprises have employed more labours, scaled up the production which helped maintain the export growth. The solution of Bac Giang province and local businesses have brought practical benefits.

After controlling Covid-19 pandemic, taking advantages of 15 free trade agreements (FTA) that Vietnam joined (including Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and EU-Vietnam FTA, the provincial businesses built production plan to increase the productivity and create momentum for breakthrough.

The province paid special attention to the integration policy and guidelines from the Party and State, established Steering Board for international economic integration to communicate and popularize knowledge about economic integration so that the enterprises can seize the production and business opportunity.

Firmly maintaining the growth rate, Bac Giang has implemented the provincial strategy of import and export till 2030 in which the province targets to have average export growth of 25 – 27 percent in 2021 – 2025 period, 12 – 13 percent in 2026 – 2030 period.

To realize the goal, the province has focused on several key solutions. Apart from industrial product, the province develops modern and sustainable agriculture.

By 2030, the province prioritizes to attract projects to produce and process farm products for export in association with material, particularly processing vegetable for export in Viet Yen, Tan Yen, Lang Giang and Hiep Hoa districts; processing fruits for export in Luc Ngan and Luc Nam districts; processing wood for domestic and export demand in Son Dong, Luc Ngan, Luc Nam and Yen The districts; slaughtering castle and poultry in Yen The, Tan Yen, Lang Giang districts and Bac Giang city; processing pork and chicken meat in Yen The, Tan Yen, Lang Giang and Luc Nam districts.

Besides, the province will expand and upgrade both scale and quality toward national and global standard for various products originated from rice, tea, pig, chicken, vegetable and fruit among others.

According to the Customs Sub-Department in charge of the industrial parks in Bac Giang province, the Bac Ninh Customs Department established a working group to grasp the specific export-import situation at the businesses and remove the difficulties in this field. The proposals and recommendations from local enterprises were handled so as to create the best possible conditions for them to clear the customs, increase the export value.
