Gasoline prices hit 4-month high

Prices of gasoline and diesel went up Monday afternoon to the highest since Nov. 11.

The popular fuel RON95 went up 2.10% to VND23,810 ($1.01) per liter after two consecutive drops.

Biofuel E5 RON92 rose 1.69% to VND22,800 per liter.

Diesel ended a streak of three declines in a row with a 1.23% increase to VND20,500 per liter.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance said that fuel prices globally have increased by 2.3-6.8% in the last 12 days.

RON95 rose nearly 2.4%, while diesel went up almost 1.8%, it said.

Fuel supply to increase by 10-15% next year
The trade ministry has asked businesses to purchase from local refineries and import 25.9-26.7 million m3 of oil and gas in 2023, a 10-15% increase from 2022.
