Bac Giang develops commerce and trade along industrial park

(BGO) – Bac Giang is now “red address” in luring investment for industrial development which also attracts many workers, investors and experts. Thus, the province has created civilized and safe working and living environment, especially commerce and trade to meet diverse demand of domestic and foreign investors, experts and labours.

Viet Sinh Restaurant is located by the frontage road of Dinh Tram industrial park in My Dien 2 residential area of Nenh township (Viet Yen district). The area belongs to the commercial and service land managed by Viet Yen district People’s Committee.

The restaurant was built and operated in 2019 to serve Chinese and Korean expert and labours so the cosy dining room space is decorated in line with Asian style. The diners are free to choose among 130 dishes (excluding soups) prepared by a Chinese chef.

Because of modest space the restaurant can only serve more than 200 diners per day. In order to increase the revenue, the restaurant signed meal supply contract to the office staff of several enterprises in Dinh Tram Industrial Park.

The restaurant manager Trieu Tuan Thanh said: "If you want to sell goods to foreigners, apart from knowing how to cook their dishes, you must ensure food hygiene and safety. The staff in the restaurant especially waiter and the cashier must know foreign languages”.

The province now has more than 80,000 workers living in localities near the industrial park such as: Song Khe (Bac Giang City), Noi Hoang (Yen Dung district), Quang Chau, Van Trung, Tang Tien, and Nenh township (Viet Yen district). A few foreign experts and labours stay at hotels or service areas in Dinh Tram and Van Trung industrial parks.

Nguyen Xuan Dung, owner of Com Nang Tam restaurant in Hoang Mai 3 residential group of Nenh township said he contributed capital with his friend to open an additional restaurant with the same name at My Dien 2 residential group in late 2022 to meet the needs of workers in the industrial zones and clusters.

“Besides rice dishes, our restaurants also serve beer, hot pot and barbecue. As schedule, we will open one more restaurant in Bac Giang city and one in Bac Ninh City, "said Dung.

At night, many workers gather to eat and drink around industrial parks in Noi Hoang commune (Yen Dung district); Quang Chau commune, Van Trung commune, Nenh township (Viet Yen district).

Viet Yen district currently houses about 70,000 workers so hundreds of restaurants, eateries, refreshments, grocery stores, spas have recently mushroomed in the area.

Although the number of workers is big, the infrastructure of trade and service in the above localities is still limited. Thus, Viet Yen district has attracted investment to build new Nui Hieu and Nenh markets.

According to provincial Industrial Park Management Board, as the plan, each industrial park has an administrative and service area (corresponding to 1-2% of industrial land area) to attract investment in building services for worker.

The Department of Planning and Investment informed that since 2020 to date, the province has approved for 23 investment projects in service sector with total registered capital of more than 3.27 trillion VND. When these projects come into operation, they will meet the needs of housing, living, shopping, culture, entertainment and sports for workers and foreign experts coming to Bac Giang.

Most of the projects are implemented in Bac Giang city and districts with many industrial parks like Viet Yen, Hiep Hoa, Yen Dung, and Lang Giang.

Recently, the province has attracted some investment projects to build social house for workers in the area to support and "retain" labours at industrial parks and clusters.

In particular, the province also implemented night economy development project during 2021-2030 period. It will be a "push" to support the investment and development of night trade and service in Bac Giang, especially along the industrial parks.
