BAC GIANG – The working delegation of Bac Kan province led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Dinh Quang Tuyen on August 22 paid a visit to Bac Giang province to study and exchange experiences in developing industrial parks and clusters (IPC) in Bac Giang. The delegates were received by Bac Giang PPC Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan and relevant departments.
Representatives of Bac Giang provincial Management Board of Industrial Parks briefed the guests on local prominent socio-economic achievements, especially in IPC development and investment attraction.

As the approved provincial Planning, from now on till 2030, Bac Giang has 29 industrial parks (IP) and 66 industrial clusters (IC). Currently, the province has 9 IP with total area of 1,967 hectares (75.6 percent of which are occupied) and 55 IC covering 2,254 hectares (30 IC were put in operation, attracted 248 sub-projects and created jobs to more than 46,000 labours).
The industrial development contributed to Bac Giang’s GRDP growth in 2022 of 19.3 percent which helped the province rank 2 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The annual foreign direct investment (FDI) continuously maintains in top 10 leading localities. Up to now, the province has 521 valid FDI projects with a total investment capital of nearly 9.59 billion USD.

At the event, the Bac Kan PPC Vice Chairman Dinh Quang Tuyen said the mountainous province has advantages for forestry and mining development. However, the province switches to develop the industry. Though Bac Kan has many policies to lure and support investors, the results are under expected.
The leader of Bac Kan province hoped to study Bac Giang’s experience in attracting capital, especially huge investment from FDI investors; directing and managing industrial development and administrative reform in the IPC.
Speaking at the meeting, the Bac Giang PPC Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan urged relevant departments and sectors in two provinces to regularly discuss and share experiences in developing IPC.
Also, he introduced general experiences in developing socio-economy in Bac Giang province which is to take local geoeconomic advantages to develop three economic spearheads, including: industry, commodity agriculture, trade and services. All levels of the Party and authority must be consistency in the leadership and direction in socio-economic development while insisting on promoting industrial development, taking industry as the main pillar and driving force to promote the province's overall economic growth.
All levels and sectors have paid due attention to supporting and removing difficulties for businesses to invest in the area.
Drastic direction is done for the land clearance issue as well as settlement of administrative procedures related to investment.
The authority should create a favorable, equal, open, transparent and friendly investment and business environment to promote investment attraction, business development and improve the provincial competitiveness index.

The Bac Giang provincial leader affirmed that Bac Kan has many advantages for industrial development, large space and conditions to choose investors in the IPC’s infrastructure and secondary investors.
Bac Kan has a relatively large local human resource, helping provide on-site human resources for investors. He believed that with the determination of the province, in the coming time, Bac Kan will achieve many results in industrial development.
Previously, the working delegation of Bac Kan province visited some businesses in Quang Chau and Van Trung industrial parks in Viet Yen district.
