(BAC GIANG)- Leaders of Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) had a meeting with the provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province on August 25 on cooperating to construct the power grid projects and power supply situation. Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong and EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An co-hosted the meeting.
The power consumption of Bac Giang province has regularly increased in recent years while the growth rate of commercial electricity has been in top of the nation.

As defining the importance of power to production and living, the leaders of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang province have paid due attention and drastically directed the people’s committee of the districts and city to collaborate with investors and units to timely surmount arising obstacles relating land clearance for construction of power projects. However, implementation of the projects requiring land acquisition still faces numerous difficulties.
Industrial development is defined a key target of the province in coming time, thus, the province proposed for investment in the 220kV power lines and stations in Yen Dung and Lang Giang districts, which are expected to come into operation in 2025.
Besides, the province will accelerate the 110kV power projects in the existing list of investment such as the 110kV electricity line from Luc Ngan to Son Dong district, the Bac Giang - Lang Son 110kV electricity line and Bac Giang- Dinh Tram- Quang Chau 110kV electricity line, improve the Bac Giang - Pha Lai electricity line and soon approve the list of investment of Quang Chau 3 and Van Trung 3 110kV station projects.
In addition, the province will allocate investment capital to improve the rural low voltage grids to enhance power quality and reduce power loss.
Speaking at the meeting, Dang Hoang An stressed construction of 220kV power stations in Yen Dung and Lang Giang districts is urgent, which need to be implemented soon. He requested EVN’s related units to work out solutions to bring the project into operation in 2025.
Besides, he urged Bac Giang province to identify the power planning location in the adjustment to the provincial master plan. The electricity sector is willing to join hands with the province to make the proper power structure map and electricity network of Bac Giang province.
Currently, the power system of Bac Giang province is mainly based on the old electricity lines, thus, it is possible for connection in some locations. He requested the province to order the departments and sectors to work together to design the appropriate power system to meet the demand for development. He commanded EVN’s related units to resolve every recommendation of the province.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong highly appreciated EVN for supporting the province in dealing with related issues. Currently, the power supply in the province meets the demand for production and living; however, the power demand is increasing due to expansion of many factories and rapid urbanization. Hence, Bac Giang province expects to be supplemented resources and complete the power system.
