BAC GIANG - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province Le Anh Duong on August 29 led a delegation to inspect the implementation of a number of projects invested by the provincial Management Board of Civil and Industrial Engineering Construction Investment Projects.
The delegation inspected a project to expand the Yen The district Health Center with a total investment of more than 200 billion VND (8.28 million USD), including 120.8 billion VND from the central budget and the rest from the provincial budget. The project is scheduled to be implemented in 2022-2024 with 231 beds and ancillary items.

The investor has so far disbursed only 40 billion VND (1.65 million USD) for the project. In the eight months of 2023, the figure was more than 26 billion VND (1.08 million USD), or 27.62%, lower than the set plan. It is expected that efore December 30, 2023, all the investment capital will be disbursed.
The project to build the Bac Giang Mountain College, headquartered in Yen The district, has had its contractor selection plans approved by the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee. Up to now, the investor has selected the contractor for Package No. 4. It is preparing and appraising the bidding documents for the remaining packages.
It is expected to complete the negotiation and contract signing for the construction and equipment installation package and disburse 100% of the allocated investment capital before December 31, 2023.
The project to build the provincial Center for Disease Control based in Bac Giang city has a total investment of 186 billion VND (7.7 million USD). Its work started on June 26, and is expected to be completed in November 2024. The investor has negotiated and signed a construction and equipment installation contract for the project; and organizing construction activities.
At a working session with the management board, Chairman Duong acknowledged the efforts of the unit over the past time. He noted it needs to arrange staff on duty at the construction sites to urge the contractors to ensure labor safety and environmental sanitation, and speed up the construction progress.

The weather in the last months of the year is favorable for construction activities, it is necessary to take advantage of this condition to focus on construction in order to put the works into operation as soon as possible, especially health centers to serve people’s medical check-up and treatment needs, he said.
He requested a review of all projects, saying if any project faces difficulties in disbursement, the board should submit a written proposal for the capital transfer plan right in September. He also agreed with the board’s proposal on procurement of some public assets, requiring it to coordinate with specialized agencies to carry out the procedures as prescribed.
Earlier, at the site, the provincial leader asked Yen The district to speed up site clearance to hand over clean ground to the investor in October so that it can start the construction of the Bac Giang Mountain College in November.
