Luc Nam: Unseasonable custard apple yields nearly 6,000 tonnes

(BGO) – According to the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development in Luc Nam district (Bac Giang province), the district is home to 500 hectares growing unseasonal custard apple mostly located at the communes of Huyen Son, Nghia Phuong and Dong Phu.

Thanks to the favorable weather condition and farmers’intensive cultivation experience, the output of this crop highly increased, reaching nearly 6,000 tonnes of fruits, up about 1,000 tonnes comparing to the same period last year.

At the moment, the farmers are harvesting the fruits with the average selling price of 35 – 40,000 VND (1.5 – 1.7 USD) per kilogram at the orchard that is higher than the price of seasonal custard apples of 10 – 15,000 VND (about 0.5 USD) per kilogram.

The local authority plans to expand the cultivation area of unseasonal custard apple in the production mechanism to ease the product consumption.

Bac Giang maintains 28,000 hectares of lychee cultivation in 2019

(BGO) – The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) in the northern province of Bac Giang has announced the plan of lychee production in 2019, covering  28,000 hectares with the expected output of 6 tonnes per hectare and total productivity of 168,000 tonnes of fruits.

(BGO) – The Israeli expert delegation led by Khaled Khalefa, President of Arab Council for Foreign Relations on September 26 had a working session about preservation technology for the lychee and agricultural products in the northern province of Bac Giang.

 

Bac Giang establishes safe lychee supply chain

(BGO) – The People’s Committee in the northern province of Bac Giang has assigned the Department of Science and Technology to consult, propose and order the provincial level science and technology task.
