This year, Phuc Hoa commune has 550 hectares of early ripen lychee for harvesting, including 300 hectares of lychee cultivated under VietGAP standard.
Thanks to the active caring and cultivating techniques, the fruits are bigger in size, good looking, high quality without any stem-end borer. The local farmers estimate to harvest over 6,000 tonnes of early ripen lychees including more than 3,000 tonnes of VietGAP products.
However, several retailers sell small pre-mature lychees with stem end borers that are grown in other localities much cheaper than the local fruits in Phuc Hoa commune.
