Son La exports first 30 tonnes of mango to the US, Canada and Australia

Mai Son district in the northern province of Son La held a ceremony on June 22 to announce the export of 30 tonnes of local mango to the US, Canada and Australia.

This is a good news for local farmers as their fruit has been allowed to enter these fastidious markets amid the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic.

After the ceremony, all 30 tonnes of mango will be transported to the South for quality inspection and irradiation before being shipped to the aforementioned countries.

Mango grown in Mai Son district is of a high quality, a nice shape, and an appropriate size and weight for export to the US, according to Kim Nhung Produce Trading Ltd based in Dong Thap province, the purchaser of Mai Son mango for export.

The company has also bought local mango to export to the Chinese market and for domestic consumption.

Son La province has about 2,640ha of mango with an estimated volume of over 14,200 tonnes per year.

This season, Mai Son district has 593ha of mango registered with area farming codes including 422ha of which meet VietGAP standards. Approximately 6,500 tonnes of mango are expected to meet the requisite standards for exports.

The first batches of lychee harvested in Thanh Ha district, the northern province of Hai Duong were exported to Singapore, the US, and Australia in late May. This is a good premise for the export of lychee in the years to come, particularly in the context that the fruit has been heavily dependent on the purchasing power of the Chinese market.

(BGO) – Recently, the farmers in Hop Duc commune, Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) have focused on harvesting the star apple fruit. With the affirmed quality and appearance, the local fruits always enjoy stable high price of 35 – 40,000 VND (1.49 – 1.71 USD) per kg.
 
Luc Ngan has more than sweet fruits
(BGO) - For a long time, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) is known to tourists from near and far as a land of sweet fruits in all the four seasons. Coming to Luc Ngan, visitors also have the opportunity to visit a thousand-year-old Thi (diospyros decandra) tree, Thu Duong traditional craft village and Khuon Than Lake, and then immerse themselves in the folk melodies of Nung and San Chi ethnic groups.
 
Fruit, vegetable exports reach 836 million USD in Q1
Vietnam exported 836 million USD worth of fruits and vegetables in the first quarter of 2020, a year-on-year decline of 10.9 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
