Provincial leader urges to well prepare condition to export Tan Yen lychee to Japan

(BGO) – On May 16, Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee in Bac Giang province (PPC) paid a field trip to inspect the production and preparation for consumption of early ripening lychee in Tan Yen district. 

It is coming to harvest season of Tan Yen early ripening lychee. The district has more than 1,300 ha with estimated output of 14,000 tonnes of fruits.

In addition to enhance the product quality, the district has paid due attention to sale activities in close connection to Covid-19 prevention and control. Currently, 6 businesses have registered to buy lychee in the area, 5 of which export to Japanese market and one supplies to domestic supermarket chain.

PPC Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan visits lychee growing area in Phuc Hoa commune (Tan Yen district).

Besides, Phuc Hoa Cooperative of Lychee Production and Consumption supported 18 traders to register to buy local special fruit to export to China. The district has prepared the scheme for the first departure of lychee to Japan in upcoming May 26.

After actually inspecting Phuc Hoa’s lychee land and working with district leaders, PPC Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan pressed that this year lychee consumption will encounter a lot of difficulties amid the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic.

In the time to come, the district should highly focus on disease prevention and control; target to build disease free areas; coordinate to label Code area on the product boxes and batches to trace its origin to prove the safety.

The local authority must collaborate to Departments of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development as well as relevant agencies to well prepare condition to export to fruit to Japan.

The provincial leader ordered Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to contact the Plant Protection Department to assign experts to come and supervise the tasks of steaming, sterilization and implement phytosanitary for lychee so as to successfully organize the Departure Ceremony for Tan Yen early ripening lychee to Japan.

The district was encouraged to boost up the promotion, linkage and invite traders from wholesale markets across the nation, several big partners such as supermarket systems, commercial centers, farm produce processing enterprises; highly focus on online consumption and introduction via e-commerce platforms. The province strives to basically sell out Tan Yen early ripening lychee till June 15, 2021.
