(BGO)- Currently, the citrus growing area in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province is 6,740 hectares including 4,142 hectares of orange, 2,252 hectares of pomelo and 346 hectares of other citrus trees. The annual output reaches more than 60,000 tonnes.
Besides, this district produces a number of other fruits including longan with an area of 825 hectares yielding an output of over 4,000 tonnes, jujube with an area of 527 hectares yielding an output of more than 8,000 tonnes and guava with an area of 100 hectares yielding an output of some 100 tonnes.

In order to facilitate farmers and economic sectors in harvesting, processing and consumption of orange, pomelo and farm produce in the locality, Luc Ngan district worked out the consumption plans matching with the requirements on Covid-19 prevention and control.
The district also fosters propaganda and advertising for goods consumption promotion with various methods while collaborating with the provincial Department of Industry and Trade and Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency under Ministry of Industry and Trade to sell products on some websites, e-commerce platforms and social networks like zalo, facebook and youtube.
In addition, the district held meetings and dialogues with organizations and individuals purchasing orange, pomelo and signature farm products of the district to grasp situations, surmount obstacles and support the firms and traders to purchase the products.
A Zalo group including owners of the farm produce purchasing agents in the locality has been established to update information and situation of the consumption market and guidelines of the provinces and cities nationwide on prevention and control against the pandemic.
The district provides support with 50 percent of printing expenses for packages and boxes of orange and pomelo for organizations and gardeners participating in the linkages of experience tourism. Besides, the first organizations and individuals ordering products of orange, pomelo, jujube and guava through e-commerce platforms at a volume of above 5 tonnes will be discounted 50 percent of the total purchasing value to boost consumption.
