(BGO) – Early this year, Luc Nam Custard Apple Production Cooperative (Cooperative) in Khuyen village, Huyen Son commune, Luc Nam district (Bac Giang province) got assistance from the Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) to design colour printed package and stamp for origin traceability under the Project “Supporting farm produce to qualify with provincial commodity standard in 2021”. It helps improve the product aestheticism and value to meet customers’ high demand.
The Cooperative now has 45 member households with total area of over 50ha, 45ha of which bear fruits. Joining the project, the members are supported to use stamp for origin traceability on the fruit and pack the products in eye-catching colour printed carton box.

The Cooperative Director Phung The La shared: “Previously though all members focused on cultivating the crop under VietGAP procedure giving big size fruit with high quality, the Cooperative could not sell to big supermarket and stores due to lack of stamp for origin traceability and good package. Since the main season this year, many stores and supermarkets have placed big orders because the products are provided good package and clear stamp. Hundreds of tonnes of our custard apples are sold out at high price together with good evaluation and satisfaction from customers”.
Huyen Son custard apple affirmed its trademark so the off-season fruits also enjoy smooth consumption with average selling price of 45 – 50,000 VND per kg. In addition to traditional customers, the Cooperative has inked consumption contract with Bao Sen Agriculture Joint Stock Company in Luc Nam district with high price.
Leader of the district Division of Economy and Infrastructure said the assistance to make package, label and stamp for the custard apple is a key factor to enhance the position of local farm produce, especially the stamp for origin traceability acts as the mutual information supply channel between the producers, distributor and customers. Also, it helps restrict the fake product on the market.
