(BGO) - To ensure lychee quality and standard for export, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) has ordered competent agencies to strictly control over lychee growing area codes and packing facilities in the area.
In 2022 season, Luc Ngan has 15,750 ha of lychee with expected productivity of 95,000 tonnes, including over 20,000 tonnes of early ripening lychee.

Currently, dozens of Vietnamese traders and nearly 20 Chinese businessmen have presented in the district to buy about 800 to over 1,000 tonnes of early ripening lychee per day at the price of 25 - 30,000 VND per kg.
The main export market is China with over 400 tonnes per day. The remaining quantity is consumed domestically.
In early season, the district People’s Committee directed functional organization to regularly inspect, instruct farmers to follow the technique at the growing area code while the owners of packing facilities were requested to ensure the specification for both domestic sale and export.
The district People’s Committee also established teams to check and supervise to prevent and handle any violation.
According to the district Division of Economy and Infrastructure, so far the district has consumed over 6,000 tonnes of early ripening lychee, including nearly 3,000 tonnes of fruits for export. There are about 120 purchasing and packing facilities in the district.
