(BGO) - On authorization of competent agencies from China, the US and Japan, the Department of Plant Protection (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) has granted 10 more lychee growing area codes (GAC) to Bac Giang province for export to these markets, said the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Accordingly, five GAC were granted for Chinese market with total area of 61.38ha in the communes of Giao Liem, Dai Son (Son Dong district), Hop Duc, Lien Son and Cao Thuong town (Tan Yen district); one for the US covering 12.06ha in Phuong Son commune (Luc Ngan district) and four for Japan with total area of 47.54 ha in Phuc Hoa comune (Tan Yen district), Binh Son commune (Luc Nam district) and Quy Son commune (Luc Ngan district).

To gain the GAC for export to these above mentioned countries, the participating households have cultivated lychees in line with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
So far, the province has had 149 GAC with total area of over 15,000 ha for export to China, 34 GAC covering over 274 ha for Japan, 19 GAC of over 230 ha for the US and EU and 2 GAC of 20 ha for Thailand.
