Bac Giang supports lychee consumption in associated with tourism development

(BGO) - The People’s Committee in Luc Ngan district informed to mobilize nearly 3 billion VND for launching measures to assist lychee consumption in associated with tourism development attraction.

The expense will be used to communicate and promote the fruit; instruct businesses, cooperatives and traders who come to buy lychee as well as producers of foam box and plastic basket about the packaging procedure for export to China.

Besides, the locality only selects qualified suppliers and organizes promotion event for lychee consumption under both online and direct formats.

Regarding the tourism programme themed “Luc Ngan, ripening lychee season”, the competent agencies in the district will launch various activities together with opening ceremony to draw visitors. The highlights feature contest of lychee harvesting, bundling and packaging; experiment tour to lychee garden and Cam Son Lake, Khuon Than lake, Am Vai pagoda, spring and forest in the highland.

With nearly 17,400 hectares of lychee, this year total output is estimated at 98,000 tonnes of fruit, including 25,000 tonnes of early ripening lychee.

The special fruit will be harvested in early June for early ripening lychee while the main season fruit can be harvested from June 15 till the end of July.

Production of lychee for export: follows proper procedures to improve values

(BGO)- In order to open pathway for export of lychee, the competent agencies of Bac Giang province have regularly supervised and guided farmers on caring procedures to ensure lychee quality in line with proposing issuance of planting area codes.

 

Luc Ngan lychee geographical indication protection proves effective

Since obtaining a certificate of geographical indication (GI) from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) in March 2021, Thieu lychee grown in Luc Ngan district in the northern province of Bac Giang has seen its competitiveness and export volume significantly rising.

 

Business links to production household to consume Bac Giang lychee

(BGO) – The Hanoi based Phuc Lam Trading and Service Development Company Limited has inked lychee consuming contract with group of lychee producing households in line with GlobalGAP standard in Chao village, Giap Son commune (Luc  Ngan district), reported Truong Thi Bay, representative of the group.

(BGO) – In 2022 – 2023 season, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) plans to produce more than 17,300 hectares of lychee (up over 1,900 hectares against 2021 crop) with expected productivity of some 98,000 tonnes.

 

Bac Giang rakes in 6.8 trillion VND from lychee, support services

The northern province of Bac Giang earned nearly 6.8 trillion VND (290.5 million USD) from lychee sales and support services in 2022, according to the provincial People’s Committee.
