– The People’s Committee in Phuc Hoa commune of Tan Yen district (Bac Giang
province) has inked agreement with Hanoi based Bein Joint Stock Company to
export early ripening lychees.
The locality grows total 680 hectares of early ripening lychee, 400 hectares of which are cultivated inline with VietGAP standard, 5 in line with GlobalGAP standard.

In addition to maintain and expand qualified lychee area in 3 growing area codes (GAC) of 25 hectares to export to Japan and EU, Phuc Hoa commune proposed to grant two more GAC on 20 hectares for the US and Australia in this season.
At the ceremony, the representative from the business and leader of the GAC inked the cooperative agreement to consume lychee in 2023.
Accordingly, Bein Joint Stock Company committed to buy 150 – 200 tonnes of lychee grown in the area for Japan. The local sides must ensure the fruit quality as VietGAP and GlobalGAP standard with market price for each type of lychee while supplying enough quantity of qualified fruits as the commitment.

Tan Yen prepares condition to consume early ripening lychees(BGO) – To prepare consumption
condition of early ripening lychees this year, the People’s Committee in Tan
Yen district (Bac Giang province) requested competent agencies to enhance
inspection and supervision at the growing areas, packaging facilities in order
to ensure safety and qualification for domestic market and export demand.
Bac Giang’s lychee enjoys high flowering rate(BGO) – The lychee
gardens in Bac Giang province are now under flowering stage with high rate of
90 – 95 percent. Local competent agencies have actively instructed farmers to
care for the fruit trees.

- In recent years, lychee has seen bumper harvests with stable prices.
Therefore, many farmers in Bac Giang province have shifted from other fruit
trees to lychee. This fact requires the provincial agricultural sector and
local authorities to actively grasp the situation and give timely
recommendations to farmers so as to keep the lychee growing area stable, avoiding
massive conversion.
