(BGO) – So far, Bac Giang province has consumed about 96 percent of total lychee productivity. The professional and renovative product promotion helps the province have another bumper fruit season.
In June, livestream of meritorious artist Xuan Bac at the opening ceremony of “Luc Ngan, ripening lychee season 2023” tourism programme was vibrant on social networks with millions of views and comments. Particularly, the Fanpage of Bac Giang Newspaper drew nearly 200,000 views.

The active participation from famous artist and his humorous storytelling created excitement and lured audiences, helping widely promote the lychee.
Previously, a themed fashion show was first ever held to honor Bac Giang lychee in Giap Son commune (Luc Ngan district). The lychee inspired costumes created youthful and new fashion trend. It attracted numerous visitors and local people.
Accompanying localities and lychee growers in promoting tourism, the provincial People's Committee organized a tourism promotion campaign themed: "Colourful Bac Giang" with the participation from more than 70 content creators on the TikTok platform across the country.
One of the activities that left an impression on lychee was the program "OCOP fair" on TikTok shop. It aimed to discover Bac Giang specialties which had 4.5 million views.

During 4 hours of livestream, they conducted 26 livestream sessions with nearly 1.7 million views and sold 5,182 orders with a total revenue of 1.2 billion VND. Especially, they helped Luc Ngan farmers consume about 23 tonnes of lychee.
Besides, exploiting the advantages of e-commerce, the Department of Industry and Trade guides and supports enterprises, cooperatives, production households and business households to participate in promoting, introducing and selling goods on major domestic e-commerce platforms.
Increased revenue year on year
Thanks to strong renovation in lychee promotion, this year the number of visitors to lychee areas increased sharply. More than 200,000 visitors have flocked to Luc Ngan district, doubling last year figure.

Local authorities have actively participated and accelerated to connect with foreign partners, strengthen relations with authorities at the border sharing localities so as to facilitate lychee export.
In addition to traditional markets, lychee continues conquering high-end and fastidious markets such as the United States, Japan, Australia, and the EU... Export output reached nearly 100 thousand tonnes, accounting for more than 55 percent of the total quantity.
This year, the lychee preservation technology has been improved significantly to extend the preservation time of fresh lychees from 25 days to 35 days which effectively supported the export of lychee to the US by sea, on the occasion of the US National Day (July 4).
In general, the province earned higher revenue from lychee than last year (over 4.4 trillion VND in 2022). The product has been consumed smoothly, especially to Chinese market.
Outstanding quality is unique feature
A great effort of Bac Giang in this lychee season was to consume 56 tonnes of lychee through Kep International Railway Station (Lang Giang district).
However, the transportation still has obstacles. Though the customs and phytosanitary procedures are supported at Kep station, the Chinese side still requests to quarantine again at Lang Son border gate.

The lychee season is coming to an end, Bac Giang has learned more lessons in promotion and consumption. The railway is expected to open a new transport channel for lychee consumption. Through the first lychee export by railway, Bac Giang needs to ensure the phytosanitary stage to satisfy the requirements of the Chinese side.
The agriculture sector should cooperate and propose to establish a Plant Quarantine Team at Kep station in order to take full advantage.
The creativity in lychee promotion this year has widespread with positive effect so as to advertise not only lychee but also other products of the province. This experience and method need to be duplicated in next seasons.
