(BGO)- Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Van Thai had a meeting with the working delegation of Samsung Electrics Vietnam headed by Cho Joo Ho, General Director.
At the meeting, the provincial Chairman Duong Van Thai expressed his thanks to Choi Joo Ho and Samsung Electronics Vietnam for implementing many humanitarian activities in Bac Giang especially the project “Samsung Hope School” in Hiep Hoa district. Their attention has contributed to deepening the relationship between Vietnam and Republic of Korea (RoK) as well as Bac Giang province and Korean partners.

The provincial Chairman stressed, the province is home to 232 RoK’s investment projects. RoK is the country with biggest number of investment projects in the province. He affirmed, Bac Giang always facilitates investment and business of RoK’s enterprises.
Currently, the province is focusing on administrative procedure reform while establishing the special Task force receiving information and comments of the investors to timely handle the obstacles and facilitates investors.
He hoped to receive more attention, cooperation and investment of RoK’s investors and Samsung Corporation to the province.
Choi Joo Ho thanked for warm welcome and support of the provincial leaders for RoK’s enterprises over the past time. He highly appreciated the rapid economic development of the province so far.
Choi Joo Ho stressed, more than 40,000 labourers from Bac Giang are working in 17 companies of Samsung Corporation, taking majority of the Corporation’s employees.
The companies of Samsung Corporation have been provided favourable conditions by the province for stable production especially support in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
The Corporation implements the project “Samsung Hope School” in Hiep Hoa district for humanitarian purpose. After completion, this school will give opportunities for 300 children to take part in physical, IT and foreign language activities.
General Director of Samsung Electronics Vietnam expressed his hope to tighten the ties between Korean and Bac Giang people, thereby attracting more RoK’s enterprises to invest in the province.

On the same day, the people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district in collaboration with Samsung Electronics Vietnam and Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) held the groundbreaking ceremony of “Samsung Hope School” project in Dinh Huong village, Thang town, Hiep Hoa district.
Covering an area of over 8,100sq.m, the school comprises a two-storey building, a welfare building, a multi-purpose building, a sport ground and a garage. The construction is scheduled to complete in early 2021. The total budget for the project is estimated at nearly VND 20 billion (USD 860,000) which will be implemented within 10 years.
This is the third Samsung Hope Schools in Vietnam, following those in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen. The Corporation will continue implementing the project in Lang Son province.
