BAC GIANG - Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) is adjacent to Bac Giang city and several districts with developed urban and industry such as Viet Yen and Hiep Hoa. Convenient transportation, large land fund and abundant labor resources are advantages for the locality to increase competitiveness, attract investors to the area for industrial development.
For recent years, local party committees and authorities have paid attention to industrial development. The district planned 4 industrial parks (IP), including Phuc Son, Thuong Lan - Ngoc Thien, Ngoc Ly and Ngoc Thien as well as 8 industrial clusters (IC) on total area of nearly 1,200 hectares.

Besides, each commune or town has one or two industrial and service points serving the development of industry and handicrafts. Local authority has focused on the site clearance to construct the infrastructure of the IC and IP so as to have clean sites for investment attraction.
To date, 579 enterprises have operated in the district and created regular jobs to more than 12,000 workers with minimum salaries of 6.2 million VND (about 263 USD)/person/month.
The district People's Committee directed functional units to review and minimize the time for handling administrative procedures related to enterprises and business households while requesting the People's Committees of communes and towns to strengthen the settlement of administrative procedures under the motto "4 on the spot" at the one-stop shop.
At the same time, the district targeted to improve the qualification of cadres and civil servants toward professionalism, friendliness with good application of information technology.
Local authority always accompanies local businesses by annually meeting and talk show to solve the difficulties and obstacles in investment.
Currently, two Dong Dinh IC and Lang Cao IC have attracted dozens of investment projects which create jobs for nearly 5,000 workers. Every year, the production value of enterprises in the IC reaches about 3.2 trillion VND, accounting for 65 percent of the industrial production value of the district, acting as the driving force for socio-economic development in the adjacent area.
In the 2021-2025 period, Tan Yen district identified industrial development as the main driving force for socio-economic growth, particularly promoting investment attraction to IC in order to strictly manage the environment. Therefore, the District People's Committee directed competent agencies to remove obstacles and difficulties to clear land in approved IC and IP, speed up the progress of infrastructure construction and create a clean land fund to welcome investors.
The goal of this phase was to attract investors to complete the infrastructure of 4 IP: Phuc Son, Thuong Lan - Ngoc Thien, Ngoc Ly and Ngoc Thien; lure secondary investors to fill about 80 percent of Dong Dinh and Lang Cao IC as well as 20 percent of other IC.
The whole district strives to have industrial value reaching 50 percent of total production value by 2025.
According to Vice Chairman of Tan Yen District People's Committee Nguyen The Huy, the party and authority at all levels focused on directing and well conducting the planning work in associated with propagating policies and orientations for industrial development in the district.
Moreover, the district actively promoted and introduced local potential and strengths of land resources, human resources and transportation systems connecting the region to attract investment in the IP and IC.

Priority is given to inviting investors with potential and experience in infrastructure construction, foreign-invested, environmentally friendly projects that use local labor.
The district also paid due attention to inviting businesses to implement urban residential projects, commercial centers, restaurants and hotels together with financial, medical, insurance, and telecommunications services near the IP and IC to meet social facilities for foreign workers and experts.
Tan Yen district focused on synchronously upgrading transport, urban and service infrastructure by actively coordinating with departments and sectors to accelerate the progress of major transport projects in the area to increase connectivity with districts inside and outside the province.
The locality further improved the business investment environment, promoted administrative reform, supported recruitment to meet the businesses’ demand for local labor while maintaining dialogue with enterprises to remove difficulties and support investment, development of production and business effectively.
