Luong Hai Yen wins first prize at Sao Mai 2019 in opera category

(BGO)- The final night of Sao Mai (Morning Star) contest 2019 took place at 20.00 on 14 April in the northern province of Quang Ninh with performances of the 6 best singers featuring 3 genres of chamber music, folk music and pop.  

The contestants had to overcome the challenges of solo singing and duet performances with one invited artist. The contestant from Bac Giang province Luong Hai Yen performed an impressive duet "Dieu valse dem nay" (Tonight’s Valse) with singer Nam Khanh.

After 2 performances, Luong Hai Yen was highly evaluated by the jury board for her voice and singing technique and won the first prize in the category of chamber music.

Besides, Quach Mai Thy won the first prize at the category of folk music while Truong Thuy Duong won the category of pop music. The organizing board awarded 5 additional prizes to the most impressive performance, favourite singer and promising star.

With her beautiful high-pitched voice and stage bravery, Luong Hai Yen turns into a beautiful princess successfully performing the song “I miss you”.

The young singer Luong Hai Yen born in 1993 in Chu town, Luc Ngan district has an elder sister named Luong Nguyen Anh winning Sao Mai contest 2011. Yen has expressed a great passion for singing since she was a child then she passed the exam into Vietnam Academy of Music.

The land of Love Duet singing
The recent programme themed ‘Rang ro mien quan ho’ (Radiance of Love Duet Singing Region) was chosen as the highlight of the 2019 'Visiting the land of Quan Ho (Love Duet) singing' Festival, which is held by the Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee from February 13-28.

Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Ninh province co-organised the “Ve mien Quan Ho” (Coming to the Quan ho region) programme to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Quan ho (love duet) singing being recognized as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity, in Bac Ninh city, on February 23.
 
Sloonghao singing festival and upland spring kermis in Luc Ngan district
(BGO) – The Sloonghao singing festival, upland spring kermis 2019 and exchange of ethnic folk song singing are scheduled from February 15 – 18 in Tan Son commune and several mountainous localities in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province. 
 
Chau Van singing festival launched in Bac Giang province
(BGO)- On 17 February, at the Van singing house in Suoi Mo eco-tourism site, Nghia Phuong commune, Luc Nam district in the northern province of Bac Giang, the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the People’s Committee of Luc Nam district jointly held the 3rd Chau Van (Vietnamese ritual) singing festival 2019. 
 
Festival to honour Bac Ninh love duet singing
The ‘Visiting the land of Quan Ho (Love Duet) singing’ festival 2019 will take place in the northern province of Bac Ninh from February 13 to 28, to mark a decade since the folk art form won UNESCO recognition as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity (2009 - 2019).
