Vietnam Festival cheers up visitors in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture

A Vietnam Festival themed ‘Discovering Vietnam” took place in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, on September 7 and 8, to introduce a taste of Vietnamese traditional culture and cuisine to international friends.

The festival featured around 70 pavilions showcasing traditional cuisine, cultural identities, tourism potentials and handicraft products of Vietnam.

Visitors to the event were invited to taste signature Vietnamese dishes and enjoy a water puppetry show as well as performances by popular Vietnamese and Japanese singers.

In his opening remark, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam welcomed guests to the festival, expressing his belief that the event would successfully contribute to deepening the bilateral ties.

Echoing the same view, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, Kuroiwa Yuji, affirmed that the festival has served as a bridge developing the friendship between Vietnam and Kanagawa Prefecture.

Since it was launched in 2015, the annual event has been established as one of the largest Vietnamese festivals in Japan. It has helped to bring the land, people and culture of Vietnam closer to Japanese people and international visitors alike.
