Online music programme to raise funds for Covid-19 fight

An online music programme entitled ‘Stay strong Vietnam’ will take place on April 25 on the Youtube Channel “RSVP Vietnam” to raise funds for the fight against Covid-19.

The event, hosted by the Vietnam Women’s Union, will feature popular Vietnamese singers, including Thanh Lam, Dong Nhi, Thao Trang, Ho Trung Dung and Trong Hieu amongst others, who will stream live performances from their homes.

Donations made at the event will go to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to support women who are directly participating in the fight against Covid-19 and poor women whose lives are being affected by the epidemic.

On April 16, the Vietnam Youth Federation in coordination with the online music platform NhacCuaTui launched a campaign calling on music lovers, artists, businesses, and organisation to make contributions to the prevention and control of Covid-19.

People can visit www.nhaccuatui.com/covid19 to make a donation of VND49,000 or VND499,000, and they will receive a one-month or one-year VIP account of NhacCuaTui as a thank-you gift for their goodwill, respectively.

Active until May 9, the event aims to raise funds to support medical workers and disadvantaged people amidst Covid-19 outbreak.

A total of VND215 million has been donated to the organising board on the launch day.

Classical Movements, an American concert touring company, recently announced it has had to cancel its Minnesota Orchestra’s tour to Asian countries, including Vietnam, due to concerns about Covid-19 outbreak. The tour was scheduled in June and July in celebration of the 25th founding anniversary of Vietnam – US diplomatic relations (1995-2020).

The Vietnam - Korea Experts and Intellectuals Association (VKEIA), a member of the Vietnam- Korea Businessmen and Investment Association (VKBIA), on April 16 presented 6,000 medical face masks, three boxes of hand sanitizers, and other medical supplies to Tay Ninh provincial border guards.

During their visit, the association’s members also donated 2,000 face masks and one box of hand sanitizers to the provincial police force, and presented gifts to soldiers at Cau Trang border post.
