Bac Giang Van and Chau Van Singing Festival to open on October 20

(BGO) – After long suspension period for Covid-19 prevention and control, the fourth Van and Chau Van Singing Festival 2021 in Bac Giang province will open on October 20, 2021 evening at the provincial Labour Cultural House.

The event draws the participation of 10 art troops from 10 districts and city, each consists of 15 to 20 male and female singers to perform three Van songs and two Chau van performances within 45 minutes.

Van performance at 2020 Folk Singing Contest in Bac Giang province launched by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This year festival allows troops to perform melodies praising the Party, Uncle Ho and country instead of the ancient ones while Chau van will be performed traditionally (36 stages) to honor the national heroes. Localities are not allowed to invite clubs from outside the province to join the festival.

The event will be held without any audience to ensure Covid-19 prevention and control regulation. All participants of guest, organization boards, jury board, troops must have negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours and check body temperature before and after the festival.

The festival will be held in two days (October 20 – 21, 2021) at the Bac Giang provincial Labour Cultural House in Bac Giang city. Outstanding collectives and individuals will be awarded prize A, B and C.
