Over 20 billion VND spent on restoring Dong Dieu communal house and pagoda

(BGO) – On February 16 (lunar January 16), the People’s Committee in Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) held the ground breaking ceremony to restore historical and cultural relic of Dong Dieu communal house and pagoda in Tan Trung commune.

Dong Dieu communal house and pagoda was built at the end of 19th century. During the resistant war against French colonist, the local removed the communal house as one of fighting strategy. Only the pagoda was left.

Here, the first division of the Communist Party in the former Yen The district (including current Yen The and Tan Yen district) was established in September 1944. It was recognized as the provincial historical and cultural relic in 2006.

Dong Dieu communal house and pagoda will be restored with total cost of over 20 billion VND (879,110 USD) under two stages.

The first stage is to construct the communal house, ancestor and Tam bao building while the relic site will be expanded in the second stage by Dai Hoan Cau Construction and Trade Company Limited.

As schedule, the first stage will be completed in this December.

(BGO) - The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (Youth Union) in Bac Giang city, Dinh Ke and Tho Xuong wards have made debut of two projects instructing to research and study about the National Art and Historical Relic Site Dong Nghiem pagoda (Ke pagoda) and Historical Cultural Relic Site of communal house and pagoda in Ve village via QR Code.
