According to the Decision, the Ministry assigned the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions to preside over and coordinate, with relevant agencies and units, to organise the 2022 Vietnam Art Photo Contest and Exhibition.

The biennial contest is an opportunity to gather the force of photography in the country; introduce to the national and international public excellent photographic artworks; summarise and evaluate the achievements of artistic creative labour of Vietnamese photographers over two years (2021 and 2022).

The event also aims to encourage artists to create many new works of value in terms of content and art, serving the people's spiritual and cultural life.
