"Essence of Vietnamese rice" gala held in Ho Chi Minh City

A gala night titled "The Essence of Vietnam" with the theme "The Essence of Vietnamese Rice" took place in Ho Chi Minh City on September 7 as part of activities under the framework of the 16th International Travel Expo of Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2022).

Speaking at the gala night, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai said that Vietnam started as an agricultural country. Rice is not only the main food source of Vietnamese people, but rice is also one of the sources of Vietnamese civilization and culture.

With that in message, Ho Chi Minh City welcomes distinguished guests to Vietnam, to Ho Chi Minh City, to the ITE HCMC 2022 with a gala night themed "The Essence of Vietnamese Rice".

The programme includes special art performances, such as the performance of Vietnamese traditional Ao Dai by designer Sy Hoang; followed by dance performances, medleys about rice, and an inspirational video about the "Essence of Vietnamese rice", recreating a picture of a country full of love.

After 15 years of continuous innovation and creativity, the ITE HCMC 2022 continues to affirm its brand as one of the prestigious, international and top quality annual international travel fairs in Vietnam and the Asia region.

The expo is not only for the purpose of introducing and promoting the image of typical tourist destinations, products and services of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, to the press, international and domestic tourism businesses, but also creating opportunities for tourism businesses to find partners to exchange business cooperation as well as opportunities to introduce and promote tourism products and services to domestic and international tourists.

Vietnam 2022 rice exports to rise to 6.3-6.5 mln tonnes

Vietnam’s rice exports are expected to rise to 6.3 million-6.5 million tonnes this year from 6.24 million tonnes last year on strong demand, the chairman of the country’s food association said on Tuesday.

 

Bangladesh to import rice from Vietnam and India to replenish reserves

Bangladesh is finalizing deals with Vietnam and India to import a total of 330,000 tonnes of rice as it races to replenish reserves and cool domestic prices, two officials with direct knowledge of the matter said on Monday.

 

Rice exports jump 20 pct

Vietnam exported 4.2 million tons of rice in the first seven months, 20 percent up year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

 

Building brand name for Vietnamese rice

For years, Vietnam has been holding a leading position worldwide in terms of rice exports. However, the value of rice export turnover is not commensurate with the potential and efforts of farmers. This is because most of Vietnamese rice is still exported as a raw material without its own brand. 

 

US fastest growing market for Vietnamese rice

Rice exports to the U.S. surged by 71.3 percent in the first five months, the highest growth rate of any market, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.
