"Footsteps of Legacy" programme features a combination of fashion and heritage

Cleverly integrating messages on promoting Vietnamese culture, tourism and handicrafts through fashion shows at heritage destinations, the "Footsteps of Legacy" series of events has just kicked off at the Centre of Vietnamese Quintessential Craft Villages, Bat Trang village, Hanoi.

The show introduces to the public eight contemporary fashion collections inspired by ceramics, bronze drums, silk and brocade.

The non-commercial "VC Fashion Show-Footsteps of Legacy" programme was founded and co-organised by director Hoang Cong Cuong and model Ha Vy.

The event is expected to take place every three months at the typical attractions, monuments and destinations of Vietnam, the fashion shows promise to bring to the public at home and abroad beautiful designs, bearing the distinctive mark of each place.

Eight designers have researched, created and come up with ideas to honour the cultural space of Bat Trang. Each designer and each brand has its style, but what they all have in common is love and gratitude for the culture and national art.

This event also aims to build a sustainable fashion playground.

Ha Thi Vinh, Deputy Chairwoman of the Vietnam Craft Village Association and Chairwoman of the Hanoi Handicraft and Craft Villages Association, shared that this is a good opportunity for fashion and heritage to combine, create influence and promote the development of cultural industries, in which Hanoi is one of the cities participating in UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of design.

Director Hoang Cong Cuong said that the idea of organising "Footsteps of Legacy" came from the previous success and positive effects of several fashion shows at the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature Complex) and Ban Gioc waterfall (Cao Bang).

In the future, the "Footsteps of Legacy" program will be brought to foreign countries said, director Hoang Cong Cuong.

All designers of clothing, jewellery and fashion accessories can participate, provided that their collection (from 15-20 models) is inspired by traditional cultural and artistic values, suitable to the destination space and ensures pure customs and traditions.

After Bat Trang, "Footsteps of Legacy" will continue to be organised at famous cultural-tourism sites such as Tam Chuc (Ha Nam), Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai), Hung King Temple Complex (Phu Tho), Trang An-Bai Dinh (Ninh Binh), Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Hoi An (Quang Nam).

Not only bring a "spiritual food" for art and beauty lovers but this series of events is also expected to inspire designers to continue creating and honouring good values. of national cultural heritage.
