(BGO) – The People’s Committee in Bac Giang province will open Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and Bac Giang Culture – Tourism Week 2023 on February 2, 2023 (or the 12th day of lunar January 2023) at Tay Yen Tu spiritual – ecotourism complex in Son Dong district (Bac Giang province).
The Bac Giang Culture – Tourism Week is scheduled to take place from February 1-6, with various cultural, sports and tourism activities launched by districts and Bac Giang city, typically a “Buddha music night” themed “Vinh Nghiem – Aura of Wisdom”, the procession of “Cu tran lac dao phu” woodblock set from Vinh Nghiem pagoda in Yen Dung district to Thuong (Upper) pagoda in Tay Yen Tu, Son Dong district, among others.

The event will also feature the opening ceremony of the Spring 2023 Press Festival and the launch of the Chinese version of online Bac Giang Newspaper. In addition, there will be a culture-tourism camp of Son Dong district, an special exhibition themed “The sacred imprints of Buddhism in Tay Yen Tu region – Thousand-year relics from the ground”, a highland festival and Tan Son love market.
As schedule, the procession of the woodblock set will be held at 6:30 am on February 2 from Vinh Nghiem pagoda to Thuong pagoda. The opening ceremony of the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Bac Giang Culture – Tourism Week will take place from 9 to 10:35 am with various programmes.
The event aims to promote outstanding and unique cultural values as well as tourism potential of Bac Giang, especially the Truc Lam Buddhism cultural space in Tay Yen Tu region with the journey of its founders to popularize Buddha Dharma. It will also create and develop the tourism trademark “To the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu”, hence promoting local tourism, attracting more visitors, and successfully implementing Resolution No.112 dated June 15, 2021 of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board on tourism development in Bac Giang province in 2021-2025 period with a vision to 2030.
