(BGO) – The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) has announced the prized photos at the 12th International Artistic Photo Contest in Vietnam 2023. Two photographers from Bac Giang province surpassed more than 10,000 entries to be awarded at Creative Section.
Lensman Nguyen Huu Thong (born in 1987) in Tien Son commune (Viet Yen district) won FIAP (The International Federation of Photographic Art) bronze medal for his monochrome photo entitled “Way to life”.

He captured a kid with his backpack standing among many huge open books which delivered the message that everyone needs to study hard from childhood to gain knowledge before entering the life.
Besides, consolation prize was awarded to photographer Nguyen Dang Giang (born in 1989) in Thai Dao commune (Lang Giang district) for his entry named “Fruit balloons”.
The photo featured slices of orange, lemon and kumquat as the balloons gifted to each other. He wanted to encourage people to present each other with good, and healthy things that are friendly to the environment too.

The biennial event is launched by VAPA under the sponsorship of FIAP and the French’s Image Sans Frontiere (ISF), welcoming entries from photographers worldwide. This year event drew 10,320 photos of 1,069 photographers from 32 countries to vie in four sections: Open (Colour), Open (Monochrome), child (colour and monochrome), creative (colour and monochrome).
Two prized lensmen are member of Photography Division under the Artistic and Literature Association in Bac Giang province. Particularly, Nguyen Huu Thong has won several prizes at the previous events, including silver prize in 2019 contest, bronze prize and consolation prize in 2021 event.
