Miss Universe 2022 visits Vietnam

R'Bonney Gabriel, winner of the 2022 Miss Universe pageant, was welcomed by fans when she arrived in Vietnam on a business trip.

The beauty queen, who was wearing a comfortable denim outfit, arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Thursday after a business trip to Malaysia. Accompanying Gabriel was the second runner-up in the 2022 Miss Universe contest, Andreina Martinez. Vietnamese model Lan Khue welcomed the two beauties at the airport.

Many fans came to the airport early in the day with posters to wait for Gabriel and Martinez. When the two women arrived, the fans called their names. They responded with Vietnamese sentences such as "Xin chao Vietnam" (hello Vietnam) and "Cam on" (thank you). The two also took photos with fans and gave them autographs before going to the hotel.

Gabriel will attend an event to announce the new rights owner of Miss Universe Vietnam on Friday, along with the new chairman of Miss Universe, Thai billionaire Anne Jakkapong Jakrajutatip.

In the past two months, Gabriel has visited many Asian countries including Malaysia and Indonesia as the reigning Miss Universe.

The 28-year-old beauty is an American-Filipino. She is the ninth American to win the Miss Universe title and she is also the oldest winner of the competition. Gabriel is currently running a sustainable fashion brand that gives jobs to survivors of domestic abuse at a nonprofit clothing manufacturer in Houston, Texas.
