A troupe from the Thang Long Puppet Theater performed folk music and traditional water puppet shows in Moscow and Voronezh from June 2-18 at the invitation of the organisation committee of the 16th Chekhov International Theater Festival.
The show in Voronezh left a deep impression not only on the Russian audience but also on the Vietnamese community there, including the second and third generations of Vietnamese people living in the city.
Vietnamese water puppetry is performed in Russia.
Head of the troupe Tran Thanh Hien, said that due to the limited manpower, the artists have to work hard but enthusiastic feedback from the Russian audience motivates the performers a lot.
Preserving cultural identities associated with tourism development
Son Dong is a highland district with 30 ethnic groups including 57 percent of
ethnic minorities. Each ethnic group has its own tradition. The district has
worked out a number of schemes and plans to preserve and promote the
traditional cultural identities attached to tourism development.
Exhibition to spotlight patriotic emulation movements in seven decades
Over 200 documents and objects reflecting patriotic emulation movements will be exhibited at the Vietnam National Museum of History from June 9 to August 9 as a practical activity to celebrate 75 years since President Ho Chi Minh issued an appeal for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - 2023).
