Overpass of Xuong Giang street accelerated

The overpass was started in June 2023 by Tan Thinh Construction Company Limited (Bac Giang City). The investor is the Bac Giang City Management Board of Construction Investment Projects. It was built in Xuong Giang ward on a total area of about 2.5 hectares. Photo: Workers are pulling cables and preparing to install the bridge girders.

The total investment of the overpass is nearly 260 billion VND (10.9 million USD) from the city budget (including construction, compensation payment for site clearance and some other costs).

The project items include: Prestressed reinforced concrete overpass with 7 spans, bridge length of more than 290 m, cross-section width of 18 m; the road surface’s width of 11.5 m on each side (the vehicle section is about 7.5 m, the safety strip is 0.5 m, the sidewalk is 3.5 m on each side). Tan Thinh Construction Company Limited mobilizes many machines to construct the path to the bridge.

So far, the bridge abutments has been basically completed,28 out of 56 beams have been poured concrete while 16 out of 56 beams have been installed, reaching 70 percent of the work volume. Workers are highly focused on completing the remaining tasks such as: Installing bridge girders, pouring concrete on bridge girders, building path to the bridge…so as to complete the project in March 2024, 3 months ahead of schedule. The horizontal drainage sewers in the frontage road is constructed.

Upon completion, the project will help reduce traffic conflicts with the railway; expand urban space, promote socio-economic development, contribute to completing the general planning of Bac Giang city until 2035, with a vision to 2050.
