Bac Giang People’s Committee launches “year of administrative discipline and land clearance”

(BGO) – The Bac Giang People’s Committee held a conference on January 9 to review the implementation of key tasks of unit leaders and its Plan 116/KH-UBND on realisation of Instruction 14-CT/TU of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board on code of professional conduct among civil servants, officers and soldiers last year, and set out new tasks for 2017.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Linh speaks at the conference.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Linh chaired the conference, which also saw the participation of his deputies – Duong Van Thai, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and Le Anh Duong – as well as Bui Van Hanh, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and officials from local departments and district-level people’s committees.

In 2016, innovative approaches were spotted in the register of focal assignments by heads of local agencies. Difficult tasks which were successfully performed included land clearance for major transport projects, investment attraction, new-style rural area building and education-training.

In 2017, agencies, units and localities in the province plan to continue disseminating and applying instructions from upper government bodies to improve public servants’ awareness, sense of responsibility and working style. Other tasks include encouraging officers to follow the morality and working style of late President Ho Chi Minh, boosting administrative reform, and restructuring organisations. Efforts will also be made to deter the submission of complaints to competent agencies at a higher level than normal as well as deal with public servants violating the population law and drinking at work.

Concluding the conference, Nguyen Van Linh lauded leaders of local agencies, units and localities for their effective performance of key tasks last year. He stressed that the theme for 2017 is “administrative discipline and land clearance”, requesting these leaders to be active in registering focal tasks for their agencies and localities. They must map out plans and specific measures to implement the plans and then submitting them to Party committees for discussion in order to create a consensus.

To fulfill their tasks, each leader must be role models who are ready to listen to public opinions to fix shortcomings and limitations towards the successful realisation of set objectives./.
