(BGO)- The provincial People’s Committee (PPC) of Bac Giang province held a monthly meeting on 19 March chaired by PPC Chairman Duong Van Thai.
In the first 3 months, the socio-economic situation has been badly impacted by many factors. Particularly, complicated developments of Covid-19 have affected almost all production and business activities and people’s living as well.

Facing this circumstance, the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee called for involvement of the entire political system in the fight against the pandemic while focusing on surmounting difficulties, boosting production, ensuring people’s living and intensifying efforts in implementation of the socio-economic development targets.

The economic growth rate is estimated at 7.4 percent in the first quarter (it was 13.4 percent in the first quarter of 2019). Total state domestic budget revenue is estimated at 2,180 billion VND (94 million USD) in the first quarter, up 17.2 percent reaching 24.6 percent of the budget estimate. People’s living standard has been improved. Political security and social order have been ensured.
According to Tran Van Sinh, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Health, thousands of Bac Giang people are working and studying abroad. Besides, many enterprises in the province employ foreign workers. Thanks to close situation grasp, management of the suspected sources and good preparation for any situations, there has been no Covid-19 infected case confirmed in the province so far.

In terms of agricultural production, the pig disease has been controlled while many livestock farms are renewing production. However, it is necessary to concern bird flu outbreak because the epidemic sees complicated developments in some neighboring localities.
Concluding the meeting, PPC Chairman Duong Van Thai said, Covid-19 is a big threat that has made negative impacts on many sectors forcing the levels and departments to raise high sense of determination.
The result gained in the first 3 months set a basis for the province to concentrate on upcoming duties, in which fighting against Covid-19 is the key task.
The PPC Chairman required to review all plans on epidemic prevention and control of the agencies, units and localities to proactively prepare the best conditions readily for epidemic fight at higher level while establishing and running the concentrated isolation areas for suspected cases.
It is necessary to foster management and supervision of infection sources from outside to the province. Students are allowed to stay home until receiving new announcement. Making online-study plans in case of complicated pandemic developments.

Besides, it is essential to pay high attention to making the province’s master plan in the period from 2021 to 2030, with a vision to 2050 according to the PPC’s schedule.
Facing the difficulties in economic sector, PPC Chairman Duong Van Thai stressed the measure to boost production and investment attraction while removing obstacles, supporting enterprises and facilitate investors accessing to financial capital, credit and land use.
Reduce administrative procedures and cut down enterprises ‘expenses. It is necessary to strengthen market inspection and control to timely detect negative factors, implement proper measures to stabilise the market.
