(BGO) - On April 14, The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam, and the Center for Community Support Development Studies (CECODES) jointly announced the Provincial Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2020. Bac Giang was ranked 13th out of 63 provinces and cities, in the top group of the country.
According to the PAPI 2020 Report, Quang Ninh province topped the country in the ranking, followed by Dong Thap and Thai Nguyen provinces. Bac Giang province ranked 13th with a total score of 44.32 points, down 1.72 points and nine steps over 2019.

Compared to 2019, Bac Giang saw an increase in the score of two out of eight dimensions: vertical accountability toward citizens (5.15 points), up 0.17 points; and public administrative procedures (7.61 points), up 0.08 points. The remaining six dimensions namely public service delivery, transparency, environmental governance, control of corruption in the public sector, e-administration, and participation at local levels, had points down over the previous year.
Through the PAPI 2020, departments, sectors, specialized agencies, and People's Committees at all levels can clearly assess the limitations and focus on remedial measures, striving for a professional, modern and effective public administration.
The PAPI measures the people's experiences and feelings about the effectiveness and quality of the implementation of policies and the delivery of public services by local governments.
