Bac Giang jumps in both 2020 PAR Index and Satisfaction Index

(BGO) -  The Government’s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform held an online conference in Hanoi on June 24 afternoon to announce the 2020 Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS) and the 2020 Public Administration Reform (PAR) Index of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.

According to the assessment, the 2020 PAR Index of the provinces and centrally-run cities hit 83.72 percent on average, 2.57 percent higher than in 2019 (81.15 percent) and reached the highest level in the last five years. As for the SIPAS, the satisfaction rate of people and organizations for the three levels of administration in 2020 ranged from 85.43 percent to 88.18 percent. Quang Ninh province topped the rankings in both indexes.

In 2020, Bac Giang saw increased points in both indexes. Specifically, it ranked 13th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in the PAR Index with 85.58 percent, up 12 places compared to 2019. Of which, many contents earned higher points, such as administrative modernization ranking first, up 4 places; building and improving the quality of cadres and civil servants fifth, up 37 places; and the direction and management of administrative reform 22nd, up 15 places.

Regarding the SIPAS, Bac Giang ranked third in the country with 92.54 percent, up 6 places against 2019. The index is assessed through five basic factors, including access to services, administrative procedures, civil servants, service results, and the reception and settlement of comments, feedback and recommendations.

Concluding the event, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, head of the Government’s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, acknowledged and praised the efforts and coordination of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the Vietnam Post Corporation as well as ministries, central agencies, People's Committees of provinces and cities in the implementation of the two indexes.

He asked heads of administrative agencies at all levels, after the conference, to continue to have breakthrough and appropriate solutions to improve the quality of provision of public administrative services; speeding up the reform of administrative procedures; strengthening the application of information technology and digital transformation; and gathering resources to build e-administration towards digital government in the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2030...
