(BGO) - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province Le Anh Duong on August 23 received a delegation from the Lao Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang.
Duong briefed his guests on the province’s outstanding achievements in socio-economic development and ensuring security and national defence. He emphasized that the Vietnam-Laos special relationship has been established and maintained by high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and States for decades.

The provincial leader noted that in 2022, the two countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and 45 years since the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries. Bac Giang province has been organizing many activities in response to these events, including a working visit by the provincial leaders to Xaysomboun province and the exchange of information to set up collaboration between Luc Ngan district and Anuvong district of Xaysomboun province, and between the Women's Unions of the two provinces.

Thanking the Lao Embassy and the ambassador for giving a lot of love, attention and special support to the people of Vietnam in general and Bac Giang province in particular, Duong said that the province will continue to carry out many activities to further tighten the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two provinces.
Recalling the special relationship between the two countries, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang thanked the Party Committee, government and people of Bac Giang for their support for the Lao revolution both in the past and at present. He sent regards to the volunteer soldiers and military experts of Bac Giang province, who had helped Laos during the resistance wars.
Impressed with the achievements Bac Giang province has achieved, the diplomat said: “The information provided by Duong is very useful to us. In addition to agriculture, the province has also seen impressive development in industry. Bac Giang’s rapid economic development is a testament to the ingenious leadership of the provincial Party Committee and authorities as well as the solidarity and consensus of the local people”.

He hoped that in the coming time, Bac Giang province would continue to implement the cooperation agreement with Xaysomboun province, contributing to building a good relationship between the two countries. Bac Giang should introduce businesses to deploy investment projects in the Lao province, creating stable jobs for local people. It is necessary to strengthen people-to-people exchange activities between Bac Giang province and localities of Laos.
On the occasion, the Lao delegation visited Vinh Nghiem pagoda in Yen Dung district.
