Bac Giang to realize cooperation agreement with Xaisomboun province, Laos for period of 2021-2025

(BGO)- The People’s Committee of Bac Giang province issued the Plan No 481/KH-UBND dated August 25, 2022 on implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between Bac Giang province and Xaisomboun, Laos in the period of 2021-2025.

Accordingly, the plan is to realize and effectively implement the Cooperation Agreement between the People’s Committee of Bac Giang province and the government of Xaisomboun in the period of 2021-2025, foster mutual understanding and contribute to nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The plan No 481/KH-UBND replaced the plan No 667/KH-UBND dated December 12, 2021 of the provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province on implementation of the cooperation agreement between the two sides in 2021-2025 period.

According to the plan, in 2022 and 2023, Bac Giang will send experts to survey and evaluate socio-economic development impacts and efficiency of the “Nam Mang irrigation project” in Thathom district for adequate investment and support in the period of 2022-2030.

Besides, Luc Ngan district will sign memorandum of understanding (MOU) on establishing local-level cooperative relationship with Anuvong district, Xaisomboun province and the provincial Women’s Union of Bac Giang province will sign a MOU on cooperation with its counterpart in Xaisomboun in 2022. Annually, both provinces will organize conferences and exhibitions (in-person or virtual methods) to promote the key products of Bac Giang in Xaisomboun while organizing teleconference on promoting consumption of lychee and typical products of Bac Giang province with a bridge point in Xaisomboun.

Laos promotes construction of Laos - Vietnam railway’s section

The Lao government has “green-lighted” a feasibility study on a railway route connecting the Vientiane capital with Thakhek in central Khammouane province, part of the Laos-Vietnam Railway Project (LVRP).

Bac Giang provincial delegation pays visit to Laos’ Xaisomboun province

(BGO) – Ngo Bien Cuong, Director of Department of Foreign Affairs in Bac Giang province led a working delegation to visit Laos’ Xaisomboun province to promote activities under bilateral Cooperative Agreement between two provinces from February 20 – 26.
