(BGO) - Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong received a high-ranking delegation from the Central Committee of Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia led by its President Hun Many in Bac Giang city on October 23.
Hun Many, who is also member of the Cambodian People's Party Central Committee, was accompanied by Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chay Navuth.

At the event, Duong briefed the Cambodian guests on the outstanding socio-economic development results of Bac Giang. In 2021, the province's exports to Cambodia fetched more than 9 million USD, mainly textiles, chemicals and metal products. In the last three years, about 9,100 tons of Bac Giang lychee have been shipped to Cambodia.

He said that the locality will continue promoting people-to-people diplomacy activities between the two nations, thus attracting the participation of young generations and businesses in Bac Giang and Cambodia. It will actively introduce people of all classes in Bac Giang to Cambodia’s history, people, culture and achievements in national construction and defense, as well as the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the people of the two countries.
For his part, Hun Many stressed the huge potential for Bac Giang’s exports to Cambodia, especially the shipments of its agricultural products. He asked the provincial leaders to create favorable conditions to elevate two-way trade.

The Cambodian official proposed the leaders of Bac Giang province share experience in attracting foreign investment and shifting economic structure from agriculture to industry.
Regarding this proposal, Duong shared that one of Bac Giang’s lessons is attaching great importance to planning work. Under its master plan, by 2030, the province will have 29 industrial parks on an area of about 7,000 ha, including 12 industrial - urban – service zones; and 63 industrial clusters on an area of about 3,006 ha.

When investors look at the plan, they will feel secure to invest in the province, he said, adding that industrial planning must also go hand in hand with service planning.
On the same day, the Cambodian delegation visited Vinh Nghiem pagoda and Yen Dung Clean Vegetable Cooperative.
