(BGO)- The People’s Committee of Bac Giang province on October 26 organize an exchange programme with Lao alumni delegation who come to visit old schools in Vietnam. The visit is included in the programme of the Ministry of Education and Training to welcome Lao alumni delegation.
The Lao alumni delegation headed by Sisuk Vongvichit, Deputy Minister of Lao Ministry of Education and Sports included 100 alumni representing more than 60,000 students who studied in Vietnam in different periods.

On behalf of the provincial leader, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le O Pich expressed his great pleasure to welcome Lao alumni delegation to Bac Giang. He informed, many generations of Lao officials and students have been sent to study in Vietnam in recent years including the Vocational School of Border Guard No 1 in Viet Lap commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province.
The programme to visit old schools and teachers of Lao alumni delegation is a practical activity to celebrate the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, 60th founding anniversary of the diplomatic ties and 45th anniversary of the signing of Vietnam-Laos bilateral Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, thereby tightening the traditional solidarity and friendship between the government and people of Vietnam and Laos.

Particularly, on 2021, Bac Giang and Xaisomboun province inked a cooperation agreement for mutual support in realizing the guidelines and strategic visions of high-ranking leaders of both nations in people-to-people relations.
On the same day, the delegation visited the Vocational School of Border Guard (former T2 Ha Bac School). During the resistant war against American invaders, the school trained a number of Lao soldiers and students. Nowadays, the school continues to teach Lao language and border guard affairs to Vietnamese professional officials and soldiers to fulfill the tasks to protect the Vietnam-Laos border line.

At the exchange programme, the old teachers and students revised their memories during studying in Vietnam. They expressed their emotion to be taught and helped by the school and local people. With the knowledge they had learned from Vietnam, a number of Lao student generations returned their home country and became key leaders in different sectors.
The generations of Lao students paid their deep gratitude to the country of Vietnam and sentiments of Bac Giang people for Lao students not only in the past but also at present. They showed determination to preserve and promote the traditional friendship of the two nations and continue nurturing the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
