Prime Minister Sen said the highway would bolster Cambodia’s socio-economic development, especially in terms of trade, commerce and tourism between Cambodia and other countries in the region, including Vietnam.

The four-lane, 135-km highway will begin in Phnom Penh City and then run through Kandal, Prey Veng and Svay Rieng provinces. It will connect with Vietnam at the Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh, which connects with Bavet City in Svay Rieng on the Cambodian side.

At the border, the new road will connect with Vietnam’s upcoming Moc Bai-HCMC Expressway.
